No Sex Offender Registration, Gun Rights Saved in Juniata County Assault Case

in Assault, Criminal Defense
In Juniata County, we assisted a client charged with multiple counts of aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, and indecent assault. He faced lengthy jail time, large fines, and possible sex offender registration if convicted.
Attorney Czekaj got to work for his client right away, exposing inconsistencies in the complainant’s allegations and exposing a prior incident where the complainant made similar allegations against another individual. We negotiated that victim submit to a polygraph exam, and although inadmissible as evidence, her failing the test corroborated our theory and created additional negotiating strength.
Using this support for the case, Czekaj negotiated a no contest plea to a single count of disorderly conduct, which was graded as a summary offense. The client only paid fines and court fees and did not have to register as a sex offender, kept his gun rights, and even avoided probation.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
